good location aprox. 10 minutes walking to metro station L2 Monumental. Directly in front of the hotel caffeterias and a supermarket, english speaking stuff, always cleane room, good price
noisy location, all rooms facing the street - but nothing abnormal, overpriced breakfasts - 11€ per person.
The stuff was very helpfull.the room was very clean and they were changing towels every day! Quiet area!
The noise due to thin walls, especially in the morning.
Clean, well located hotel, only a few blocks from Sagrada Familia. Everything I expected from a city hotel, and friendly staff. It's a bit of a walk to the main strip (Ramblas) but there are Metro stations a couple of blocks away. The cafes and shops near this hotel are a lot less touristy than other areas so cheaper!
Breakfast is quite expensive, we avoided it and got coffee and pastries from a nearby cafe. There's no tea making facilities in the rooms but cafes v close and i think there is a kitchen next to reception if you're desperate! Beds were a little hard, and you should specify whether you want a twin or a double. Quite a small room but you're in Barcelona - you're not going to want to spend much time in the hotel!!
The hotel was well situated, only a 5 min walk from the Monumental underground station, and not much further to the Sagrada Familia. Warm and welcoming staff, who were very helpful in many ways, a problem we had en route was solved, very quickly and easily, by email just a few hours before arrival. Nicely presented hotel, very comfortable rooms. We booked a double room, which was fantastic, the room had a great layout, and a fabulous bathroom, the decor and cleanliness were superb. They also had a luggage storage facillity, which is most convenient if you have a late flight / departure. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, have stayed in higher rated hotels, and have been left underwhelmed, something that the Hotel Aranea has certainly not done, especially for the price!!! Would certainly stay there again on our next visit to Barcelona.
The breakfast choices and quality seemed to decline from the weekend to the mid-week days. We didn;t bring a laptop, and there were no computers avialabel to guests without laptops.\limited choice of tv stations |(no access to international cable tv and news
Very good breakfast and clean rooms with excellent wifi. Helpful staff
Breakfast staff need to be more friendly to overseas travellers as it is a service industry. This especially applies to non speaking Spanish travellers
Great value for a major city. Our room was small and simple but adequate for storing luggage and moving around the room. The bathroom was very nice with a large tub. Lobby, hallways and our room were kept clean and tidy. Pleasant and helpful staff. Would recommend to family or friends.
The beds are hard and the pillows flat. The closest metro is 4 blocks from the hotel which may be a problem for people who cannot walk far distances.
what I liked the most was the position, it is situation very close to Sagrada Familia and you can walk to almost all major tourist attractions ( la Rambla, Pedrerea...etc) ; the room was clean and all in all it is a good value for the money we payed. It is not luxury, but you get all the necessary comfort and facilities for a pleasant stay.
The breakfast was too expensive: 12 eur/ person and ou rooms had no view, but this is not essential for me.
Very good location, modern and clean rooms, good brekfast, hotel has free WI-FI , nice hotel staff.
Good location in the city while fair price
Nice size room and located within easy walking distance of 3 metro stops. Room was very clean, well equipped bathroom.
3 main issues with our stay. 1. WiFi was horrible. If we were in the bathroom it was fine, but anywhere else in the room it was in and out...mostly out. 2. When inquiring about the Barcelona Transportation Pass, the hotel employee recommended the Tourist Pass instead. I asked if it included metro & buses and was told no, but this was much much better, the hop on/off bus will take you everywhere you want to go. They neglected to tell us that this service stops at 8:00pm and so we ended up having to purchase an additional Transportation pass. While this is mainly my fault for not asking more questions and/or not going with my gut, I felt the hotel employee took advantage of my lack of knowledge and was simply trying to get whatever cut they receive from the bus company. 3. TV only had Spanish speaking channels and not many at that.
Good location for famous sites to see
If you have a car to park they provide a car park close to the hotel at a price. The only problem the automated doors do not open , we had to manually open them from inside though a security doors and down the lift . All so they do not provide an iron.
Very warm greeting upon arrival and really helpful reception staff. Lifts in good working order and not over used or crowded. The room was quite spacious with lots of natural light and the bed was comfortable and clean. It was also nice to have a small fridge in the room (mini bar) which we used for some of our products. We thought the location may have been a little niosy but quite the opposite, managing to sleep well with very little road disturbance or noise. The room was tidied and cleaned daily. The maids were thorough and towels always changed. The bathroom was particlarly nice and spacious plus the bath with over shower was nicely arranged for both uses. The location was good and within easy reach of the nearby metro station. The hotel staff on reception duty provided a good detailed map and were very happy to give directions and help to other sights of interest. Overall, we had a really nice week and at a very affordable price - therefore would recommend this hotel. We would definately hope to return in the next year or so.
The front desk employees were helpful in providing city maps and helping us locate our destinations. The hardwood floors, beds, and washrooms were in excellent condition. The air conditioning was nice after a long day in the heat. The staff were more than willing to replenish our toiletries on a daily basis. In general, the staff were very accessible and friendly. The feel of the hotel is little better than a 3-star hotel.
Even though there was supposed to be wifi, it was not available after the first day of our 4-day stay. The location was initially difficult to find as it is awkwardly situated between 3-4 subway stops, each around 5-10 min walk. There were no English-speaking television channels to watch on the television in the rooms. When we asked to use a landline to make a quick phone call to a friend at another hotel, they told us that their payphones did not work and that we were not allowed to use their front desk phone. We also overheard another guest complain about a leaking ceiling. The staff responded that there were no other rooms available, so they could not move them to another room.
The sevice is very good. The perssonal is very friendly. I found a nice place to stay. No body disturb us.The location is great, at only 5 minutes wallking is situated La Sagrada Familia the best work of the master Gaudí. My wife and me enjoy our stay there.
